Is language immersion right for you?

You may be asking yourself ‘why is bilingual learning important for children so young?’ and we get it! The American school system does not introduce a second language until much later so why do we?

Studies show that the flexibility of the brain between 0-3 years of age make it uniquely suited to learn multiple languages at one time.

Besides the obvious benefits of speaking a second language, there are developmental advantages as well! Bilingual children are better at planning, multitasking, solving problems, and concentrating than children who speak a single language.

This developmental advantage sticks with them into their adult lives, leading to tangible outcomes like increased memory function, boosted self-esteem, better driving skills, and even protecting against Alzheimers Disease.

“Not only do both of our children speak fluent German but they have developed incredible skills to set themselves up for success. Our oldest was beyond ready for Kindergarten!”

FAQ

  • German! As an immersion school the language learning is centered in everything we do! We speak, sing, read, and write in German all day long.

  • Yes! Comprehension comes first of course, but the longer your family is with us, the more speaking we see from each child.

  • No. Many of our families have no German background when they start. Learning a second language at a young age is valuable regardless, setting your child up for increased language skills down the road.
